Deyika Nzeribe, our Green Party candidate has launched his campaign  for the 2017 Mayoral Election for Greater Manchester.

A father of three and long time green community activist from Hulme, Deyika pledged to challenge the intolerable democratic deficit of George Osborne's Northern Power House Agreement.

Deyika has not only a sound track record as a green activist, local ward candidate and ex-chair of Manchester Green Party, he also has a super team behind him with active members from all 10 Green Parties right across Greater Manchester, from Bury to Wigan, Bolton, Rochdale, Tameside, Trafford, Stockport, Oldham and Salford !

If elected, Deyika will encourage the setting up of local Citizen Forums and a Greater Manchester Citizen's Assembly.

Pointing out that our City Region has one of the highest level of child poverty in the country, Deyika wants to see priority given to social housing and cheaper public transport. He also called for more resources from government for Greater Manchester Police which has seen its budget cut by 40% in recent years.

Deyika was supported by co-leader of the Green Party Jonathan Bartley and joined by Tom Crone, Liverpool Green Party Mayoral candidate.  The hour long session was fully filmed by both BBC and ITV
